Mind the gap.

This is the point where Posterous, which I loved, told me that Twitter, which I used to like, had bought them out and closed them down.

Although I now have a large backup file, and have moved to Blogger, I've yet to work out how to import anything newer than my photo for day 338 below.

Oh well.

Maybe at some point when I have a spare year to spend I will re-import them all...

Flu Jab (Day 337) #photoaday

Imag0082

Form an orderly queue now.

Apparently 30 minutes earlier it was 4 times as long.  And that doesn't show the sneaky inner queue that they hide like on amusement park rides.

Anything-can-happen Thursday (Day 318) #photoaday

2011-09-15_19

An evening off.  So we all went for a work around the lake which was bizarrely off level.  Good family time which ended with ice cream.

Photos of the day (Day 308) #photoaday

Imag1161

Someone once said to me pictures aren't photos until they are printed out.  Had a delivery of about 150 pictures today and so now they are real

There's a hole in the sky (Day 300) #photoaday #belated

Theres a hole in the sky

Decided to save this one for 300.  It's Bamburgh castle with a sky you'd sell your wide angle lens for...  300 - just over two months now and I've been doing it for a year.

Pani Puri (Day 282) #photoaday

Img_9758

Ate about 12 of these tonight - Only discovered them a few months ago - a deep fried egg size pastry, which you put potato and chick pea mash, onion, and small fried vermicelli type crunchy things, then fill it with a watery sauce made from chillies, onion, mint and tamarind.

You knock it back in one shot - and it gives you a kick like Scotch - but none alcoholic - Really strange but addictive.  And Hot

The cranes are busy today.  They will soon work themselves out of a job.

Lunchtime Lapsang (Day 274) #photoaday

2011-08-02_13

Very unlike me to have tea.  I'll be wandering around smelling of old rope all day now.

HDR on the move (Day 228)

Hdrotmove

I'm quite amazed at how well an ap on my phone created an HDR picture which was taken in a moving vehicle.  It takes three shots - taken about a half a second apart - whilst moving and came up with this.  In that time I reckon the car traveled between 10 and 12 meters (assuming it wasnt travelling over 30mph) and yet the phone managed to match and stitch the images back together without showing any blurr.  In fact the only artefact of the HDR appears to be the strange ufo in the clouds at the top right of the picture - which is just a streetlight but I like the effect so I'll leave it there.

The ap I am using is called hdr camera by almalence (android platform)

Lemon (Day 225) #photoaday

2011-06-15_18

Then I realised that there were two girls walking up the road watching me lying on the floor taking a photo of a lemon...

The Stream (Day 224) #photoaday #belated

2011-06-14_17

Wanted to take a photo of this stream for a while now.  This photo doesn't do it justice.

Please don't arrest me (Day 223) #photoaday

2011-06-13_13

A local photographer was accused of nefarious activity when he took photos of this building.  The security guards gave him a rough time.
Great building though - How many people take photos of it like this one with camera on a mobile, but then you try and take a decent shot with an slr and have your collar grabbed.  Ridiculous.

Dedication (Day 220) #photoaday

Dedication

I found this dedication this morning on a book I wrote several years ago. I discovered it again today and when I saw it I made me smile and made me happy.
I didn't write another one....
